How was that possible? Mariam Nabatanzi gave birth to twins six times, triplets four times, quadruplets three times, and only two pregnancies with one fetus. Except for the last child, who is four months old and for whom she had a cesarean section, she gave birth to all the other children normally at home.

Ten of the children are girls, the rest are boys. The eldest is 23 years old.
She gave birth naturally all the time and says she recovered quickly. Only at the last pregnancy did she have to have a cesarean section, and since then she has been left with back pain.
The story of life

The story of this woman's life is impressive. She married at the age of 12, after escaping death, the woman says, as if through the ears of a needle: her stepmother would have crushed glass and put it in the food she wanted to give to Nabatanzi and the four his brothers. Fortunately, Nabatanzi escaped because he was not at home. Her brothers, however, ate and died immediately.

She starts crying when she remembers what she went through after she got married, "Daily Monitor" reports. In 1993, she married a 40-year-old man. and I had to take care of them. He was violent and beat me whenever he had the opportunity ", she said.
In 1994, when he was 13, Nabatanzi gave birth to his first pair of twins. Two years later, he made triplets, and after a year and seven months, he had his first quadruplets. These multiple tasks did not surprise her. Her father had 45 children, with different wives, but her descendants included quintuplets, quadruplets, twins, and triplets.

Doctors say that, indeed, it is possible that Nabatanzi had her father's genetic inheritance. It is a genetic predisposition that leads to hyperovulation, which increases the chances of multiple pregnancies.

After the sixth pregnancy, when Nabatanzi had 18 children, she wanted to stop and went to the doctor. Only the doctor told him he couldn't do anything. If he had ended his birth then, it could have been fatal. She had a much larger egg supply, and the accumulation of unfertilized eggs could not only destroy the reproductive system but could cause women to die, explained Dr. Ahmed Kikomeko of Kawempe General Hospital.

Then, the woman tried to use an intrauterine contraceptive device, but she couldn't stand it, she was going to die because of it, she was in a coma for a month.

At the age of 23, he already had 25 children. He went to the hospital again and told the doctor he wanted to stop. She was again advised to continue with the births because the egg supply was still too large.

When, in December last year, she gave birth to her last child, the 38th, by cesarean section (she had to have a cesarean section because she was too weak), she told the doctor to do something to stop giving birth, and the doctor tied her up. most likely the horns. The woman says that the doctor told her that "he will cut her uterus from the inside".

An abusive husband

Nabatanzi has 25 years of marriage, years in which she suffered a lot and was humiliated. She says she was tortured by her husband, several times, who is used to getting drunk and does not contribute to the daily life of the family. The children barely know their father, because he doesn't even stay at home, Nabatanzi explained. The eldest child, the 23-year-old boy, says he last saw his father ten years ago. Usually, it comes at night, even once a year, and stays very little, does not even catch it in the morning.

The mother is the one who took care of the children all this time. And despite the difficulties, he managed to send them to school. One of the firstborn twins is now a nurse, and the other specialized in construction. They don't have jobs yet.

The woman buys 10 kg of cornmeal a day, four kg of sugar, and three soaps and is happy that she has not seen her children suffer from hunger. However, the biggest problem in the area is water and it needs 15 cans daily. To earn a living, he sells medicinal plants and does various occasional jobs - cutting, decorating, decorating brides. Not infrequently, people laughed at her because she has so many children, but she didn't take them into account and did her job. "I don't care if he brings me money. I do not complain of pity, because I know that these children are a gift from God that I must cherish and do everything I can to protect them ", says Nabatanzi.

He is in trouble with a five-year-old son who has been diagnosed with a heart problem. He has to raise money to go to surgery in India.

Nabatanzi finds solace in her children and enjoys the family she did not have when she was a child. Now it's easier: older children help their younger siblings and help their mother with chores,
